God’s Intimate Involvement in Our Lives
Matthew 10:30 (NIV) - But even the very hairs on your head are all numbered.
Recognizing God in the Everyday
Over the past couple of months, I have been reflecting on my journal entries and have noticed a recurring theme: God is intimately involved in the smallest details of my life. This year, I have been called to trust God in new and deeper ways. The challenge has not only been to surrender situations that are clearly beyond my control, but also to invite God into the ordinary, everyday decisions—those small choices I might not typically seek His guidance on.
Learning to Trust and Let Go
As I look back, I am continually amazed by the things God has done. One particular journal entry stands out. I remember a day that started with a stressful encounter—a client spent thirty minutes venting about her situation. I had no power to change her circumstances, yet she expected me to fix everything. Shortly after, I received a critical email from someone on a committee I serve. The message was a direct attack on an idea we were considering, and it felt like a personal affront.
My instinct was to defend myself immediately, and I began drafting a sharp reply. However, before sending it, I paused to pray. In that moment, I decided to delete what I had written and chose to remain silent. Other committee members soon spoke up in my defense. When I finally did respond, I did so with a different perspective, but the criticism remained. Then, something remarkable happened: another member stepped in, wholeheartedly defended me, and resolved the issue.
God’s Faithfulness in Our Battles
This experience taught me a significant lesson—I do not have to fight my own battles. God has countless ways of defending and supporting us, often in ways we could never anticipate. Trusting Him with every aspect of our lives, even the smallest details, opens the door for Him to work in powerful and unexpected ways.
